Job Purpose:
Our Sales Manager will be responsible for overseeing the development, coordination and direction of profitable sales within a specified region. Duties include acting as the leader of your territory by managing a team of sales professionals, implementing and fostering corporate initiatives, maintaining supplier relationships and growing Veritiv\u2019s customer base. This position requires a \u201Ctake the wheel\u201D approach for the entire sales process along with strong skills for intelligence gathering, prospecting to negotiating and account management.
Job Responsibilities:
\u25CF Develop a team of high performers who grow business through new account acquisition and expanding share of wallet.
\u25CF Implement sales and marketing strategies which will contribute to achieving the Territory and Regional objectives.
\u25CF Conduct sales meetings, trainings, and account/pipeline reviews on a regular basis with sales group.
\u25CF Set appropriate performance objectives for team members and hold them accountable for achieving these.
\u25CF Identify opportunities and present solutions offered by the organization that meet the customer\u2019s needs.
\u25CF Create a personal network and represent the organization at business sector events to enhance the company brand.
\u25CF Work with organization to ensure team members maintain up-to-date customer and inventory data in the CRM and identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
\u25CF Manage and report on team performance, assets (inventory) and budget execution.
\u25CF Partner with the Credit Manager to ensure accounts receivable are kept current.
\u25CF Maintain and renew a deep knowledge and understanding of the organization\u2019s policies and procedures to ensure the team\u2019s and own work adheres to required standards.
\u25CF May be requested to perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Salary Range $130,000 - $150,000 annually plus performance bonus
\u25CF Experience and knowledge in in Packaging, Facility Solutions or similar industry is preferred.
\u25CF Must have strong leadership and management skills.
\u25CF Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.
\u25CF Excellent verbal, written, people and diplomacy skills required.
\u25CF Good interpersonal and conflict management skills required.
\u25CF 30% travel required.
\u25CF Experience managing a team of 5-10 direct reports.
\u25CF Territory sales or account management experience preferred.
\u25CF Strong understanding or experience from a large, national or decentralized distribution organization preferred.
\u25CF Experience with Salesforce.com or other CRM is preferred.
Work Experience:
\u25CF 1-3 years of related experience of successful supervisory/management experience required to motivate and develop direct reports, as well as size up new talent.
\u25CF 3-5 years of related job experience.
Education:
\u25CF Bachelor"s Degree
Physical Requirements:
\u25CF A significant portion of the job responsibilities will require computer work that involves the continuous use of the fingers, hands, wrists, and sitting for long periods of time.
\u25CF The position also requires frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.
\u25CF The position requires work in an office as well as travel to customers, suppliers, group meetings, etc.
