Cost Accountant
Our client is a leading construction firm in Woodland Hills dedicated to delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget. With a commitment to excellence and a focus on client satisfaction, they specialize in affordable housing in California and other states. As they continue to grow, they are seeking a Construction Cost Accountant to join their team and contribute to the success of our projects. As a Construction Cost Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing and controlling costs and budgets during the planning, executing, and closing phases of construction projects.
Location: Woodland Hills Salary: $28.00 - 35.00hr (DOE) This is a full time, temp-to-hire position Schedule: Mon-Fri 8.00 am - 5.00 pm
Responsibilities:
Assertively enforce policies, procedures, and software use involving contract compliance, job costing, budgeting, and financial reporting system.
Receive and accurately post payables, ensure appropriate approvals and job-cost coding.
Ensure accuracy of job cost coding, financial reports, budgets, contracts, general ledger activity, etc.
Produce financial reports in cash-basis accounting, accrual accounting, and/or modified accrual accounting dependent on lender requirements.
Enter, evaluate, interpret, and report information in Yardi Property Management software and its supplementary software solutions.
Assist in the coordination with contractors, vendors, lenders, and other team members to ensure timely and contractually accurate payments are made.
Process construction draw requests.
Requirements:
Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
Working knowledge of the construction industry.
Experience using Yardi is a plus
Detail oriented
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
Knowledge of construction processes and terminology is a plus.
