Job Summary
The Career Technical Education (CTE) Hourly Teacher - Automotive and Transportation Exploration, will teach an introductory course that focuses on the fundamental aspects of automotive technology. Students will explore the automotive and transportation industry through online curriculum and through hands-on projects under the guidance of this individual. The curriculum will explore introductions to automotive, battery technology, shop procedures and safety, electrical systems, automotive engines, steering and suspension systems, brakes, drive train, heating and air conditioning systems and general service and maintenance requirements. The curriculum will be taught in a thematic style that blends Common Core English Language Arts standards for Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening with core program objectives.
Requirements / Qualifications
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Develops and implements lesson plans;
• Provides instruction in-person and virtually via the Zoom platform;
• Assesses student performance;
• Prepares reports (e.g., attendance records, student evaluation, credit,
and grade system);
• Communicates with students, staff, and others;
• Maintains accurate records;
• Maintains a classroom environment which is conducive to learning;
• Attends meetings and training sessions;
• Performs related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Possession of a valid California Designated Subjects Career Technical Education
Teaching Credential authorizing teaching in the Transportation industry sector
OR proof of enrollment in a credentialing program to obtain
a Career Technical Education Credential with authorization in
the Transportation Industry.

• Copy of a valid California Designated Subjects Career Technical Education
Teaching Credential authorizing teaching in the Transportation industry sector

• One (1) current letter of reference (dated and signed) within 3 years.

A valid California Driver’s License is required prior to the start of employment.
