Job Abstract

Position Summary:

• Performs Radiologic Procedures as ordered by an attending physician and associated duties to maintain high quality standards and an efficient department.
• Performs duties in support of the Hospital Mission to ensure the highest quality of patient care in an economically sound and efficient manner.
• This position serves all ages of patients.

Responsibilities

*Performs Radiologic Procedures, including portables and trauma, as ordered by physician or the Radiologist in accordance with department procedures.

*Performs fluoroscopic and other procedures according to standard protocols, under the supervision and direction of radiologist and other physicians.

*Produces quality images according to department Routine Procedure Protocols, utilizing proper exposure factors, shielding and positioning.

* Documents technical factors of each procedure in accordance with departmental procedures.

* Processes images as needed to ensure patients examinations are completed in a timely manner.

*Accurately marks each image with the correct patient information from the I.D. card in accordance with department quality control standards.

*Dicoms procedures and places the images on PACS for the Radiologist to read.

*Places the cassettes in the proper area for reuse as observed by coordinator.

*Participates in the Quality Control program of site, as evidenced by cassette cleaning etc.

*Makes copies of procedures upon request and places in appropriate bin for pick-up.

Accurately positions lead markers on the images to identify the position a film was taken and correctly identifies right and left side of the patient as observed by supervisor and through quality control.

Positively identifies all patients before performing an examination as evidenced by lack of incident reports.

* Utilizes Radiology Information System (RIS) to properly track procedures, as evidenced by appropriate billing and transcription.
