Job Overview:
The licensed Athletic Trainer (AT) assists in executing established program policies and procedures and assumes responsibility for maintaining program standards. The AT is an extension of the supervising physician and is to be compliant with the supervising physician’s standing orders implementing medical and risk management of all persons covered within these orders. The AT should regularly consult and communicate with the supervising physician on the medical management of each athlete as needed. They will also provide extender support in clinic for musculoskeletal and concussion care as needed. The AT is available to assist in coverage for offsite games and/or practices with contracted schools and organizations and offers flexibility to cover varying shifts including nights, weekends, coverage of special events, and tournament coverage. The AT is responsible for following established plans of care with contracted schools and affiliations at all times. The AT will assist in evaluation and education and in organizing and providing community programs on or offsite while establishing and/or maintaining communication with physician practices, schools and various institutions and will enhance academic enrichment through providing preceptor support for athletic training students onsite as needed.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Athletic Training.
Preferred:
1 year experience
Certifications and Licenses Required:
Current athletic training licensure in the state of New Jersey through the NJ Board of Medical Examiners.
Current and upheld National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification, fulfilling annual continuing education requirements within the state of New Jersey.
BLS certification required (American Heart Association
