Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Systems Engineer with VMware experience to join our team and work remotely with a team headquartered in Chantilly, VA. This position is primarily remote but may require minimal work work performed on-site in Chantilly or Washington, DC. This position is supporting delivery of Enterprise IT critical service. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supports virtualization-based delivery of service then O&M tasking of deployed operational Infrastructure solutions.
- When issues, incidents, and/or problems arise, you will assist with the troubleshooting, solutioning and problem resolution support.
- Produce and maintain documentation of the infrastructure team’s systems and components including as-built documentations, drawings, capacity/performance plans, and all other areas of system life-cycle planning.
- The position supports the investigation and analysis of new virtualization, storage, data protection technologies, methods, and/or approaches to modernize and improve upon existing infrastructure and security solutions.
Basic Qualifications:
- Shall have 5 or more years of hands-on experience providing progressively complex
- Enterprise IT administration or engineering support in system engineering and virtualized environments.
- Experience managing applications hosting on various OS and vitalization platforms or cloud environments, and networking.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and apply complex technical concepts.
- Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining enterprise-level technologies, such as Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, or similar.
- Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining solutions in secure processing environments that utilize Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strongly desired to hold CompTIA Security+ CE or DoD IAT Level II (Security+) certification or equivalent is required.
- Demonstrated experience implementing, operating, tuning, optimizing, and maintaining solutions to provide virtualization, data protection, and networking services for enterprise level consumers.
- Understanding of the physical and tiered storage system configuration options, their recommended use cases, and general best practices for achieving optimal, and efficient solutions.
- Understanding of data protection technologies.
- Demonstrated experience leveraging vendor-provided best practices, systems, applications, and services to regularly patch and upgrade solutions.
Security Clearance Requirements:
- This position will require a US citizen with an active TS/SCI clearance.
- Ability to pass drug test and obtain and maintain a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph.
Physical Requirements:
- Position self to move.
- Stationary 50% or more of the time.
- Occasionally move around the office.
- Must be able to communicate.
- Must be able to detect computer screen and other work.
