Civil AI Vice President
Key Role:
Set and lead the strategic vision and direction of AI/ML initiatives to address our Nation’s most pressing challenges across the federal civilian agencies – with an emphasis at the nexus of law enforcement, homeland security, and immigration. Establish and drive the overarching AI/ML strategy for the Civil organization aligned with firm-wide, strategic business objectives and market demands. Oversee and grow a large team of technical talent to design, develop, and deliver AI/ML-driven approaches to solve complex, mission-critical challenges within the Civilian space. Lead government organizations through the transformational journey of adopting AI technologies, including Generative AI, to drive innovation and enhance operational efficiency while also advocating for an AI-powered landscape that revolutionizes operations, decision-making, and public services. Lead initiatives to pilot and implement emerging AI technologies within the civil sector, showcasing the potential benefits of AI-driven solutions in improving government operations and services. Shape the company’s AI and Civil talent strategy, focusing on attracting, training, and retaining top AI talent while building a highly skilled technical team capable of addressing complex mission-critical AI challenges from strategy to execution across mission areas. Work closely with various departments and business units to ensure seamless integration and alignment of AI initiatives.
Basic Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience designing, developing, and integrating analytics or AI technologies for mission applications from early strategy to production deployment and adoption
- Experience with and a record of growing an AI business
- Experience developing and mentoring staff at all levels that also builds an internal capacity to deliver high quality and highly innovative analytics services
- Experience developing and implementing successful market strategy and business development, and leading proposal, project, and intellectual capital creation
- Experience with project management, including managing and building client relationships
- Experience with AI, Python programming, Deep Learning frameworks such as PyTorch, MXNet, TensorFlow, and Keras, and big data technologies such as Hive, PySpark, Synapse, and Databricks
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
- Bachelor’s degree
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience operating in a complex, cross-functional organization where teams must collaborate and integrate with other multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience creating effective frameworks to aid the discussion of complicated technical topics
- Experience making strategic impact at an executive level, to include collaborating with leaders on difficult issues and applying sound judgment and analysis toward important business decisions
- Experience acting in a proactive and passionate manner related to organizational growth, including inclusion and diversity, growth and development of ICs and people leaders, and functional excellence
- Experience in commercial application and best practices of AI/ML with adjacency to the federal government mission space
- Possession of a reputation as a trusted thought leader at the intersection of AI and federal missions with an emphasis on law enforcement, homeland security, and immigration functions
- Possession of exceptional communication skills, including articulating with both technical and non-technical business partners
- Master’s degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $190,000 - $360,000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
