Job Description:

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Financial Accounting Analyst (Contract) to join our Accounting Department based in Herndon, VA.

This position is located in Herndon, VA.

You will be part of a team supporting accounting activities for all Airbus Americas subsidiaries, working closely with the controllers and the Finance partners.

Our Finance and Accounting team members need excellent analytical and communication skills to successfully manage our financial portfolio. Our teams provide key analytics – from month-end closing to performance management analysis for our partners. Bank Accounting: 40%

• Review daily bank uploads on SAP and check for completeness. In case of any discrepancies, liaise with local and global treasury teams to reach a solution quickly especially during period closes.
• Clear all transitory accounts and be a focal point for teams working on related transactions :Airbus Global Business Services, AP, Payroll..
• Ensure compliance to all internal and external regulations when processing transitory account clearings
• Coordinate with the Treasury to ensure compliance, accuracy and timely of the Treasury operations and transactions.

2. Financial reporting & GL Accounting: 40%

• Work with accounting manager on miscellaneous month-end postings and balance sheet reconciliations
• Support monthly close by working closely with the controlling team and advice on corrections to ensure service deliveries are met and provide support as needed.
• Assist in the preparation of Financial statements for all entities (Consolidated TB, B/S, P&L, Cash Flow statements) in conformity with IFRS and GAAP.
• Support the accounting manager and staff, controlling and tax department on regular activities and exceptional:: Annual audit, transfer pricing study, tax PBC, valuation studies, etc.)
• Support accounting close meetings by maintaining calendar invites and helping with gathering feedback for presentation slides
• Perform the processing of functional and benefits expense allocations, monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, fixed assets depreciation and recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries, if needed.
• Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, fixed assets, employer’s benefit costs, accruals and prepaid expenses.
• collaborate with Multi Functional Teams (Tax, treasury, controllers, financial systems) to finding opportunities to improve and standardize intercompany closing process (i.e. by automating manual processes and reducing errors to produce high quality reports)
• Support the Accounting Manager and other Finance department teams in ad hoc projects (surveys).

3. Project Management : 20%

• Ensure implementation of SAP system enhancements and other financial tools that enhance operational effectiveness
• Ensure implementation compliance, segregation of duties and internal controls rules
• Support the Head of Accounting and other Finance departments in special projects such as Legal Entity Optimization….

• Bachelor (or Masters preferable) in Business Administration, Accounting skills, and Finance, or related field, required
• Proficient in IFRS/ US GAAP preferred
• Good knowledge of SAP modules & or similar ERP environment, preferred
• Zero (0) to two (2) years or more of experience in finance, auditing and/or accounting in a commercial or industrial environment involving tight delivery timelines
• New and recent graduates from accredited university or college degree program are eligible for this job opportunity
• Problem-solving skills: Demonstrated leadership in resolving or raising issue resolution, team building, training and team support
• Good communication skills: tenacious, detailed, use great verbal and written communication skills to interact well with workers of all levels throughout the company
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
• Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
• Proficiency or exposure to: SAP, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite
• Coding (i.e. SQL, etc) and visualization platform (i.e. Tableau, Alteryx, etc.), preferred
• 10 % domestic and international travel is involved in this role

Ability to work in the US without current, or future, need for visa sponsorship/work authorization is required for this job.

This position is a temporary (contract) position with no specific time period but could be extended or shortened as needed. Contractors are employed by a 3rd party vendor and placed on assignment to Airbus in America.
