Job Overview
The Leave Analyst has a role essential to ensuring that the University administers its benefits in compliance with Federal and State laws while providing outstanding customer service to its employees.
They assist in the timely and accurate administration of Georgetown University’s FMLA program, coordination of University-sponsored benefits with State family and medical leave programs, and the conduct of University disability benefit programs.
Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation
Reporting to the University Leave Manager, the Leave Analyst works closely with HR Client Services Partners and benefits and payroll partners, and directly with employees.
Additionally, they serve as a liaison to faculty affairs offices across the university to answer questions and facilitate the processing of salary continuance claims for faculty.
This position has been designated as Hybrid. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University. Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 2 to 4 years of progressive responsible experience in Health and Welfare Benefits and/or Leave Administration
- A background in benefits administration, familiarity with accounting principles, flexibility and sound judgment
- Extensive knowledge of the leave requirements and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA, DC Universal Paid Leave Act, ADA, and other applicable laws.
- Experience with Excel, Google Suite, PowerPoint, Box
- Ability to work with a broad range of stakeholders, including employees, department administrators, HR contacts and vendor partners
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple project requirements and deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well under deadlines and pressure
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, faculty and staff
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
