Junior Planner:
Experience:
- Previous internship experience desirable.
Education:
- Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in urban planning or a related field. For degrees obtained outside of the U.S., an official equivalency is required.
Assistant Planner:
Experience:
- One year of planning experience.
Education:
- Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in urban planning or a related field. For degrees obtained outside of the U.S., an official equivalency is required.
Associate Planner:
Experience:
- Three years of professional planning experience.
Education:
- Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in urban planning or a related field. For degrees obtained outside of the U.S., an official equivalency is required.
Junior/Assistant Planner:
Licenses and Certificates:
- Possession and maintenance of a valid California driver's license at the time of appointment.
Associate Planner:
Licenses and Certificates:
- Possession and maintenance of a valid California driver's license at the time of appointment;
- American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) Certification preferred.
Special Requirements:
Essential functions and duties require the following physical abilities and work environment:
- Ability to work in a standard office environment; ability to travel to different sites and locations;
- Regularly required to talk or hear. Required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
