Job Summary
Under direction of a Principal, assist a Dean and a Counselor by performing a variety of technical and clerical duties, such as attendance accounting, student enrollment, registration and records, in support of student-related services in the Counseling office of a high school; perform related duties as assigned.

Comments and Other Information
Knowledge of:: Modern office practices, procedures and equipment; basic math; computer operation; automated student information systems; telephone etiquette and techniques; correct English usage, spelling and grammar; interpersonal skills including tact, patience and courtesy; record-keeping skills; basic first aid procedures.
Ability to: Perform clerical duties such as typing, filing, answering telephones and greeting office visitors; maintain complex records and prepare comprehensive reports; administer first aid to ill and injured students according to established procedures; operate standard office machines including computer; type at a corrected speed of 45 words per minute; establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with students, staff, parents and the general public; interpret, apply and explain District and school policies and procedures, including State legal guidelines involving student attendance and records.
Education and Experience: Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school including computer training and three years of increasingly responsible clerical experience, including at least one year in a school office involving student recordkeeping.
Licenses and other Certification: Possession of valid First Aid certificate issued by an authorized agency or ability to obtain certificate within probationary period.
WORKING CONDITIONS
High school office environment; subject to demanding time lines and constant interruptions.
