We are looking for a Production Planner for our Fabrication Department in our Pomona, CA location.
Position Overview
Our growing facility has more than one hundred employees that produce high-quality, make-to-order power distribution equipment for the western United States market. Our processes include material handling, metal fabrication, final assembly and test. The position is responsible to balance supply and demand and coordinate the different functions within the manufacturing plant to ensure the completion of the customer orders on time in the most efficient/productive way to meet our financial targets as well.
Responsibilities
- Daily review of production schedule to assess capacity, identify delays and revise or correct based on available labor and resources.
- Work with the lighting panel and Switchboard Planners to plan make to order metal fabrication.
- Analyze consumption of make to stock parts, establish safety stock levels and drive fabrication based on analysis
- Supervise raw material stocking levels and coordinate with buyer to ensure coverage
- Assist in creation of production orders to distribute to the fabrication floor
- Keep track of completion of production orders.
- Reconcile open production orders in SAP, monitor COGI and ensure proper consumption of raw material
- Ensure delivery of fabricated parts to the production team for assembly.
- Build shortage reports and drive them to completion
- Maintain SAP accuracy
- Build and prepare measurable analytics for reporting.

Basic Qualifications:
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalency is a minimum requirement.
- 3-5 years of experience in production planning or production control in manufacturing environment.
- Advanced knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel).
- Well organized and excellent problem solving skills.
- Ability to maturely handle confidential issues with discretion and tact.
- Ability to work independently as all as in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal, written, and social skills.
- Ability to read and understand Blueprints.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- APICS Certification is a plus
- Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus
- Microsoft Access is a plus
- Excel Macros is a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field desired.

- The pay range for this position is $70K-$90k. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
