Job Summary
The person in this position is under general supervision of an administrator or a nurse, to provide assigned health services related to the medical and physical records and needs of students. Primary responsibilities are:
- Administer audiometric tests to school-aged children according to the California Administrative Code and the State Manual for School Audiometrists; evaluate test results to determine need for further testing and work with the District Nurse on medical/audiological referrals; prepare equipment for testing and assess equipment performance.
- Maintain and participate in a system of accurate and complete audiological record-keeping for planning and the evaluation of the overall program.
- Collect student's health status and health history data related to the ear and hearing function.
- Develop and implement daily management plans to facilitate student testing and communication with teachers and school staff.
- Monitor testing procedures and environment to assure accurate test results; recognize factors impeding accurate testing and provide accommodation for interruptions of routine testing procedures.
