Position Title: Product Copywriter (Kitchen)

Location: Hoboken, NJ

Reports to: Copy Manager

Newell Brands is seeking a talented and experienced Product Copywriter to join our creative team to support Newell’s stable of heritage-rich, iconic brands, including Graco, Baby Jogger, Crock-Pot, Calphalon, Rubbermaid, Marmot, Coleman, Sharpie, Elmer’s, and more.

As a Product Copywriter, you will be responsible for crafting compelling and engaging copy for our diverse range of products across various platforms including packaging, e-commerce websites, and product marketing materials.

This role will work with our Kitchen Brands (Crock-Pot, Mr. Coffee, Calphalon, Rubbermaid and more), so a history or strong interest in cooking or kitchen brands is a plus. The right candidate for this role is comfortable working independently, can set their own priorities and multitask well, but is also a true collaborator and always open to learn. You must be adaptable and able to switch between voices as you navigate content across brands. You value consistency, accuracy, and enjoy a fast-paced and flexible work environment. Experience in ecommerce is preferred.

Our Hoboken waterfront office is located just steps from the PATH and New Jersey Transit, making it an easy commute from New York City or New Jersey. This role will begin with a hybrid work-from-home and in-office schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Write Clear and Persuasive Product Descriptions: Develop concise and informative product descriptions that highlight key features, benefits, and unique selling points to drive sales and conversion rates.
• Maintain Brand Voice and Tone: Ensure consistency in brand voice and tone across all product copy, adhering to brand guidelines and style preferences.
• Collaborate with Cross-functional Teams: Work closely with designers, marketers, and product managers to align copy with visual elements and overall marketing strategies.
• Optimize Copy for SEO: Implement SEO best practices to enhance product visibility and search rankings, incorporating relevant keywords and phrases seamlessly into product descriptions.
• Stay Updated on Industry Trends: Keep abreast of industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape to inform copywriting strategies and maintain relevance. Leverage web analytics, customer insights, and user feedback to optimize content impact.
• Manage Multiple Projects and Deadlines: Effectively prioritize tasks and manage workload to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality copy within established timelines.

Qualifications:

• A minimum 3 years of copywriting work experience (portfolio or writing samples requested)
• The successful candidate will be a proven team contributor with experience in retail, e-commerce, or CPG direct-to-consumer, preferably in a product-focused role.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong understanding of SEO principles and best practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• BA in English or Creative Writing, or relevant work experience or strong personal interest in working with Cooking or Kitchen Brands is a plus.
