System Engineers are responsible for partitioning and allocating product, feature and system functionality to implementation teams.
This role is in GM DPE (Digital Product Engineering) and role requires person who can combine a passion for technology and sustainability with high doses of curiosity and rigorous thinking to deliver a better future. You are the in-house expert, responsible for architecting, implementing, and managing processes and systems for Sales, Marketing functional areas. You are hands-on and detail-oriented, individuals who can handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment, developing processes and implementing systems from scratch.
This role will focus on Global Lead-2-Order with deep understanding of Salesforce (Sales, Service Cloud, CPQ, Autocloud), Partner Relationship Management in a Salesforce environment, Case Management, Knowledge Management, Training and Workforce Management.
What You’ll Do
- Understands all aspects Salesforce.com platform configuration and technical capabilities, including all changes and potential system implications related to ongoing releases globally (EMEA, Middle East, South American and USA).
- Establish and maintain relationship with business stakeholders, such as worldwide Sales leaders
- Drive the governance of the system integrity and performance of Salesforce platforms.
- Lead a team of Software Engineers/Developers to design, develop and integrate cutting-edge software technologies.
- Design and build solutions on the Salesforce.com platform utilizing Apex and Visualforce to automate business processes and increase operational leverage.
- Integrate with disparate third-party systems utilizing object-oriented languages, such as Java, Python, or Ruby, SQL, and/or applications, such as Boomi and Mulesoft.
- Ensure team adheres to software development methodologies and best practices
- Act as a “trusted advisor” to business partners bringing credible insight and delivering robust solutions that leverage technology globally
- Manage key relationships with strategic vendors for ongoing support and enhancements
- Translate the business capability roadmaps into technology roadmaps and implementation plans; partner with cross functional teams to schedule, prioritize, manage, and implement business and technology initiatives.
- Collaborate with business partners to ensure that business needs are met with a full understanding of process and technology implications
- Create and promote agile approaches to deliver easily enhanced initiatives
- Ensure all business systems and automation platforms are reliable, resilient, secure and compliant
- Participate in key project and solution design reviews as part of the methodology process to ensure solutions

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- 15+ years of experience designing, implementing and supporting a Sales, Marketing & Customer Care applications, preferably In automotive industry
- Big 5 Consulting Experience is a big Plus
- BS/BA in Information Systems Technology, Computer Science, or related field of study or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience building and developing teams in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- Leadership: Direct and global experience leading teams overseeing end-to-end SFDC implementations
- Collaborator: Ability to work cross-functionally with global business partners, lean into ambiguous situations to lead, take action, and deliver results
- Optimizes: Builds organizational capability, balances multiple stakeholders to achieve operational excellence
- Highest level of personal integrity consistent with GM values, respect, transparency, ownership and collaboration
- Expert knowledge of Salesforce.com force.com platform, APEX programming, salesforce configuration, salesforce security model
- AppExchange applications
- Technical background in OOPS and web-based applications including knowledge of data migration & integration tools and methodologies
- APIs & Web Services
- Ability to work in a global cross-functional environment to help support and enhance business system
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills or experience
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Mountain View, CA or Austin, TX three times per week, at minimum.
This job may be eligible for relocation benefits.
A company vehicle will be provided for this role with successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Report review.
The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant in the California Bay Area which includes the following counties: Marin, Contra Costa, San Francisco, Alameda, San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz might be paid in accordance with the California law.
The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of the California Bay Area.
The annual salary range for this role is $186,200 - $285,300. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
