Overview
The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater New Haven (BGCGNH) is now looking for a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to oversee our Club serving several sites in Greater New Haven. We are seeking a candidate who will lead the overall planning and operation of the organization while providing leadership, direction, and support to the Board of Directors, the staff and our children. The CEO will be responsible for bringing the organization’s mission to life. We want to become the pinnacle of youth-serving organizations in our region and be a place that children are talking about all the time as Club Kids. The candidate should look forward to ‘owning’ their contributions to BGCGNH such that years hence they will be able to truly claim that they were a change-maker.
Perhaps most importantly, we seek a CEO who can build partnerships among the communities we serve and who will work actively to attract philanthropic donors from these groups to our mission. The CEO must be a charismatic and transformative leader who can serve as the face of the Club and can operate in many worlds. They must be able and willing to extend to and embed themselves in the communities we serve, to celebrate both cultural commonalities and differences. This will build community engagement.
Finally, the candidate must be able to inspire confidence in staff members by displaying a disciplined work ethic, a desire for momentum to move forward as an organization and the will and sensitivity to build a ‘team of teams’ of which all involved can be proud.
