Job Description
Sr Manager of Quality in Food Manufacturing Key Responsibilities:
Quality Management: Develop and implement quality assurance policies and procedures to maintain compliance with USDA regulations, food safety standards, and industry best practices.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of quality assurance professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure a high level of performance and accountability.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of changes in USDA regulations and industry trends, ensuring that our manufacturing processes and products remain in full compliance.
Quality Control: Establish and maintain robust quality control systems, including inspection protocols, product testing procedures, and quality metrics to identify and address any deviations or non-conformities.
Supplier Management: Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to evaluate and qualify suppliers, ensuring that raw materials and ingredients meet our quality standards and specifications.
Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, streamline processes, and optimize operational efficiency throughout the production lifecycle.
Audits and Inspections: Coordinate internal and external audits, inspections, and certifications, working closely with regulatory agencies, auditors, and certification bodies to maintain compliance and achieve industry certifications.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including production, R&D, engineering, and logistics, to address quality-related issues, resolve challenges, and support new product development initiatives.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reporting systems to track quality metrics, monitor trends, and communicate performance insights to senior management.

The Successful Applicant
Sr manager of quality in food manufacturing qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in quality assurance, preferably in a USDA-regulated food manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of USDA regulations, HACCP principles, FSMA requirements, and food safety standards.
Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and precision.
Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or relevant professional certifications preferred.
Experience with ERP systems, quality management software, and data analysis tools is a plus.
