Assist in maintaining a safe environment for patients and employees. Performs any other duties deemed necessary in a timely and efficient manner. Performs related services, such as bed moves, changing mattresses, stocking supplies, etc. Interacts hospitably, cheerfully and supportively with staff, patients, visitors and work colleagues. Positions patients onto bed and understands how they should be positioned. Moves patients off OR beds on to stretchers when cases are finished. Walks parents of pediatric patients from the OR to the waiting room. Moves and positions incapable and/or parlayed patients in PACU and ASU. Moves and troubleshoots machines and equipment when broken including changing CO2 tanks on towers and other machineries when they run out. Orders and stocks supplies including oxygen and CO2 tanks, as well as formalin. Cuts foam egg crates for procedures. Changes sharps, hazardous and non-hazardous containers. Responds to overhead call and directly works with nurses, techs and doctors. Deals with equipment shortage, distributing it accordingly throughout the day.
