POSITION SUMMARY:
Representative of the Physical Logistics Procurement function responsible for the development and management of sourcing strategies for Transportation categories and subcategories. Directly supports the execution of Nestlé’s 7-Step Strategic Sourcing Process in the North American market enabling value generation through cost improvements to Nestlé business units. Identifies and implements cost improvement projects while supporting the organizational objectives of ensure supply, exceeding service-level expectations, sustainability, and responsible sourcing compliance.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Nestlé 7 Step Strategic Sourcing Process Implementation (Self and Team)
- Analyze, consolidate, and rationalize relevant Transportation market spend to highest practical category level across Nestlé North America Business Units.
- Utilizes the Jaggaer Sourcing Tool and other digital platforms to conduct formal RFI/RFP Sourcing initiatives on both an annual and mini-bid basis.
- Engages collaboratively with Transportation Stakeholders to develop procurement strategy and execute the Request for Proposal while ensuring the supplier's acknowledgement of the Nestlé Supplier Code.
- Lead cross-functional change management initiatives that support the sourcing strategy and facilitate execution to drive compliance and operational excellence.
- Ensure supply by continued development of incumbent suppliers via an adherence to a formal Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program while continually vetting new supply options, innovations, and technologies on an on-going basis.
- Financial support for Budget, Price Forecasting, Cost-Savings Validation Data and other financial activities for Procurement Finance and Business Units
- Manage yearly budget forecast process for owned category according to the financial cycle established.
- Develop monthly price forecast reports to meaningful level of spend (may be spend category, sub-category, spec or material as appropriate).
- Analyze the current forecast to previously forecast prices and prepare commentary on evolution of category including Market price drivers.
- Utilize various external Market Indices to provide predictive analytics to upcoming Risks/Opportunities in the Transportation marketplace.
- Execute various initiatives to provide additional value for Working Capital (Cash Flow).
- Ensure Supply, Service Levels, Responsible Sourcing, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and Savings Tracking
- Discover and deliver alternate sources of supply ensuring business continuity and sustainability while minimizing business risk.
- Execution and management of the SRM program for Transportation category specific suppliers. Proactively monitors and documents the completion of SRM action items and reports the delivered additional value to stakeholders and business units.
- Manage and maintain all savings projects including all relevant documentation based on cost savings calculation guidelines. Perform appropriate and timely follow-up with business partners and finance for obtaining validation of savings projects.
- Work with internal BI representatives to develop necessary data automation and reporting requirements to properly monitor overall performance of Transportation strategy, network performance, and carrier service levels.
- Interface and Work with Functional Leadership Teams within the Nestlé Organization – Including Business Partner Network, NiM representatives, and above market teams.
- Deliver innovation, technology solutions, and collaborative partner program opportunities to functional areas.
- Manage Supplier Facing Supply Chain initiatives for Transportation categories and within team to validate ideas and project opportunities with the supply base, while ensuring an awareness of the overall E2E processes.
- Collaborate with business units to develop and secure category sourcing strategy approvals across functional leadership.
- Deliver value through cost and process improvement initiatives to multiple Business Units in accordance to targets.
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Logistics/Transportation or other applicable discipline required
- Minimum 3 years sourcing, purchasing and/or material management, technical/manufacturing experience, or Transportation related procurement roles. Internal Development Trainee candidates on second and third rotations will also be considered.
- Required proficiency in Microsoft Suite products, including but not limited to, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- SAP experience highly preferred.
- Ariba and Jaggaer experience preferred.
SKILLS:
- Candidate must be detail oriented and a self-starter.
- Proven ability to analyze and present findings in a clear and cohesive manner.
- Negotiation skills are essential (to negotiate outcomes, not necessarily dollars).
- Ability to work independently to identify and research relevant market, industry, and supplier information.
- Ability to pull, digest, and interrupt data from excel and power BI
- Knowledge of excel including and not limited to formulas, pivot tables, and quarries are preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members, cross-functional team representatives, stakeholders, and external suppliers.
- Capable of navigating through ambiguous situations with courage and managing external vendor relationships.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while supporting multiple sourcing initiatives simultaneously.
- Team player that is willing and able to provide support to RFI and RFP preparation, execution and analysis.
