Posting Summary	Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Work Assistant within the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. Directly under the supervision of Dr. Devine, the Work Assistant will support research focused on improving health outcomes and healthcare delivery for children, adolescents, and families impacted by pediatric cancer and sickle cell disease. The Work Assistant will be involved in tasks including qualitative interviews and data collection, transcription of interviews, and coding qualitative interviews. The Work Assistant will learn valuable research skills as well as professional career development skills under the supervision of the Principal Investigator. Among the key duties for this position are the following: Engage in data collection, including qualitative interviews and surveys per study protocol. Transcribe, clean, and code qualitative data. Conduct literature reviews. Research activities may require flexible (i.e., evening or weekend) activities on occasion per project demands. Attend lab meetings. Attend workshops, seminars, lectures, and career development activities as available.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience	Undergraduate students who wish to prepare for a career in psychology, public health, biomedical sciences, or affiliated field should apply for the position.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities	Highly motivated and academically able to pursue a career in biomedical sciences • Effective oral and written communication skills. Computer literature with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Requires the performance of laboratory research.
