1. Receive and audit monthly attendance reports and registers from District school attendance personnel and correct inconsistencies; balance student attendance data, computer input and audit printouts for accuracy and completeness. 2. Provide technical assistance and guidance concerning attendance data and functions of Pupil Data Department and use of software to school attendance personnel; work with school attendance clerks and other school personnel to provide accurate and timely data reports; provide training and assistance to school attendance personnel and substitutes in attendance procedures, policies and guidelines. 3. Compile a variety of complex and technical attendance information and data; code and prepare for computer input; establish, prepare, generate and maintain various reports, lists and files related to assigned functions; distribute reports to appropriate personnel. 4. Audit and balance school site monthly attendance reports from school attendance technicians and correct inconsistencies; audit suspensions and independent study contracts for completeness; audit student attendance data, registers, posts absences at school sites; audit computer input and printouts for accuracy and completeness. assign teachers for home teaching. 5. Enter all attendance, enrollments, withdrawals, and suspensions information; coordinate home teaching assignments with schools, physicians, hospitals and teachers; input and audit data for independent study contracts; prepare student attendance reports for School Attendance Review Board (SARB). 6. Establish and maintain positive attendance calculations for private school and special education program; receive, validate and audit schools suspensions monthly. 7. Enter date of registers, suspensions, independent study contract, attendance, corrections for school sites; back up attendance clerks when the system is down on in their absence. 8. Serve as a backup in assigning overflow students in the district; serve as a backup to testing and in coordinating the scanning and preparation of testing reports for district students and schools; serve as a backup in preparing compliance data and reports. 9. Operate a variety of office equipment, including computers and supporting word processing and spreadsheet applications; operate peripheral equipment including a scanner; operate all other modern office equipment, such as calculator, FAX, copy machines, as required; verify input to assure accuracy. 10. Obtain, verify and provide information to various District and school personnel; provide student attendance and other information to parents and authorities as required. 11. For positions with bilingual designations, translate a variety of written materials from English to a second language and from that language into English; interpret and facilitate communication between staff and non-English speaking parents. Interpret and translate in Spanish student attendance data and school placement information in person and on the telephone to parents. 12. Perform a variety of clerical duties in support of assigned functions such as typing, filing, microfilming and processing mailings; maintain supply inventory; order supplies and materials as needed. 13. Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Employment Standards
Experience: Three years of increasingly responsible general clerical/accounting experience working with automated accounting systems.
Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by coursework in computer applications.

This is a Dual Certification recruitment: Candidates who attain a passing score on each examination part will be placed in rank order on an eligibility list after promotional credits are added to the composite test scores of promotional candidates.
