Summary:
The Director, Allied Manufacturing is responsible for overall manufacturing operations within all designated Allied business units. This role has direct responsibility for safety, quality, service, productivity, adminstrative and financial performance. This is accomplished through leading, directing and managing their respective Plant Managers and teams. The Director is also responsible for employee development, managing turnover, project management and annual operationg budget preparation for the business units. This position sets goals and executes strategies to meet corporate and Allied business objectives.
The Director, Allied Manufacturing is requirecd to develop the culture of the operations within the region and successfully lead the operations by practicing ADS core Values. This role should be able to effectively and professionally communicate across all functional departments of the organization, including but not limited to: Executive, Sales, Engineering, Finance, IT, Manufacturing and Human Resources. The Director must, at all times, represent the best interests of the company. All interpersonal communications, business decisions and actions should support the goals and directives set by the executive management team.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure a safe work environment for all employees and maintain a safe working record
- Lead and institute continuous improvement programs at all Allied manufacturing locations
- Ensure excellent customer service through professional fleet operation, customer relations and proper inventory
- Preparation of annual operating budgets for plants & operations in the network. Meet or exceed budget requirements
- Communicate with Regional Manufacturing Managers and company managers in order to promote teamwork and consistency in achieving goals
- Maintain and build job skills through company and outside training programs
- Oversee various operational programs and ensure plant / business unit compliance
- Identify efficiency improvements through innovation and automation
- Oversee manufacturing operations for the region. Meet or exceed performance expectations in all functional areas
- Ensure development of Plant and Department Managers. Prepare for future increasing responsibilities and new roles
- Manage the region as a business unit. Make decisions and ensure that the operation, i.e. manufacturing, sales, etc., is functioning effectively and profitable
- Communicate timely and effectively with VP - Manufacturing Operations with regards to Allied performance and operations
- Identify opportunities with Procurement to reduce costs in the Allied products supply chain

Educational Requirements:
- 4 year Business or Technical degree preferred
Preferred Experience:
- 3-5 years progressive responsibililty within the ADS, Inc organization
- Similar job experience
Physical Requirements:
- Employee will be lifting heavy objects and must have the ability to lift 25 pounds
- The employee will be required to travel to various facilities within the country and has to be able to travel 30-35% of the time
