Are you an experienced IT professional with a solid background in network administration, design, and architecture? As Network Engineer, you’ll work with the Sr. IT Operations Manager and will primarily be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining functional and secure networks supported by the IT Operations department. The right candidate applies their excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and customer service abilities to plan, design, source, implement, maintain, and support network architecture and systems for the organization.
YOUR RIPPLE EFFECT
- Can you lead efforts to implement and/or update technology for our business? You will provide strategic input and exercise appropriate decision making on overall network planning and projects related to network monitoring, security, and reporting. We’ll look to you to design and implement functional and secure network solutions that are consistent with our overall operations and infrastructure strategy. Further, you will participate in or lead technology evaluations, vendor demonstrations, and requests for proposals to ensure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
- Can you support business-critical systems? You will be the primary support and/or backup for operations of various systems. Success is measured in metrics and automation of the daily functions.
- Can you drive continuous improvement? You will support or lead continuous improvement efforts in the Data Center, physical network and IDF closets to ensure a world class environment without single points of failure or reliability issues.
- Can you navigate complexity and ambiguity? You will provide level 2 or 3 escalation support for issues that are technically challenging or complex and that require high levels of skill and/or judgment to complete to the satisfaction of the business.
- Do you enjoy working independently? Independently, you will ensure that critical systems are appropriately upgraded with the necessary application service packs, hot fixes, and security patches, and will actively manage core network environments such as the LAN, WAN, Internet, Security systems and applications. You will monitor network performance and integrity to ensure system availability and reliability and will perform wired or wireless network technology installations.
- Can you help keep us in compliance? You will ensure that all SOX requirements for this position are met, and that security is maintained according to departmental compliance standards. When necessary, you will support and/or lead investigations into technology to support operational security objectives.
- Are you a great teammate? You will mentor, transfer knowledge, and offer assistance and guidance to other IT staff members as needed. You will also ensure sufficient change administration for infrastructure, network and security applications.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology field; minimum of six years’ experience as a Network Administrator or Engineer. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Extensive experience with Cisco LAN/WAN design, implementation, administration; Cisco firewalls, routers, switches, Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), SD-WAN technology and management.
- Experience and solid understanding of the OSI and TCP/IP model, including various networking protocols (e.g., EIGRP, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS) and network security.
- Advanced knowledge of and practical experience with Security Concepts (Servers, network, desktop, and applications), Network Operating Principles, Microsoft Server and Desktop Operating Systems, Microsoft Technologies such as Active Directory or Azure, LAN/WAN and Wireless Technologies, Domain Registration and DNS management.
- Ability to install, configure and maintain production level servers, personal computers, networks and/or related hardware and software. Additionally, must be able to professionally document all standards and procedures for installations and maintenance of the production environment.
- CCSE or CCNA certifications preferred.
- Superb communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate appropriately to upper management during the stressful situations like troubleshooting systems in an impaired or down state.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment a plus.
- Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision, exercising good judgment when making technical decisions affecting business systems.
