Position Summary:
Tramec Sloan located in Galion, Ohio is looking for Hydromat machine operator and set up professional. The goal is to provide machine operators with an efficient and maintained machine while providing support to operators.
This is a full time, 3rd Shift, non-exempt position with occasional overtime opportunities.
Salary starts at $17.50/hour, based on qualifications and experience, as well as a shift premium!
Summary of Essential Job Functions:
- Instructs and provides technical guidance to machine operating personnel.
- Assists in establishing maintenance and control of preset tooling dimensions.
- Makes minor and major mechanical repairs to equipment as directed.
- Responsible for quality and quantity of work. Must visually check quality of work as well as active use of micrometers and other related instruments to ensure that parts meet print specification.
- Make and maintain setups and produce parts to print on all Legacy Hydromats.
- Assist with training and documentation of training in the machining department as needed.
- Assist in writing and/or creating work instructions for operator/setters
- Change tools to maintain set-up properties.
- Assist engineering with machine layouts and estimating cycle times.
- Successfully perform minor and major maintenance as needed.
- Maintain quality, tool-life, and safety inspection records/charts as needed.
- Assist in developing and implementation of processes for continuous improvement.
- Dismantles machine or equipment, using hand tools and power tools, to examine parts for defect or to remove defective parts.
- Cleans, lubricates, and maintains machines, tools, and equipment to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter.
- Observes and listens to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunction and determine need for adjustment or repair.
- Sets up and operates machine and adjusts controls that regulate operational functions to ensure conformance to specifications. Lubricates, oils, or applies adhesive or other material to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures.
- Installs, replaces, or changes machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications.
- Communicates with or assists other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts or equipment.
- Confers with other operators and observes, tests, and evaluates operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose cause of malfunction.
- Maintenance of existing equipment.
- Knowledge of functions and limitations of machine tools.
- Work with coaches and other associates to implement, set-up, and maintain 5S procedures in the area.
- May be required to work in other departments and in other job classifications.
- Responsible to adhere to safety practices and identify and report any unsafe conditions in the plant.
- May be required by Management to perform other reasonable work-related tasks.
- May be required to work different shifts, hours, overtime, and weekends if needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- 5 years of experience with Legacy Hydromat machines.
- Must have set-up experience.
- Minor or major repair experience is not needed but is a plus
- Must have a strong mechanical and technical aptitude. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and work successfully in a team-oriented environment is required. Must be detail oriented, and able to communicate effectively with different levels of staff.
