Plans, directs, manages, and evaluates all FCPS Department of Strategy. Planning. and Learning programs, services, and personnel to include the offices responsible for divisionwide professional learning, strategy and planning, portfolio management, and research and strategic improvement; supports the systematic planning, implementing, supporting, and analysis of the Division's Strategic Plan; establishes monitoring and reporting structures and business cycles to ensure transparency and drive improvements; collaborates with the Leadership Team to align resources and efforts to Division priorities; serves as a liaison between the Division Superintendent's office and various FCPS constituencies, as appropriate.
Required
Master's degree in education.
Eight (8) years of progressively more responsible experience in leadership and management within education.
Postgraduate educational license with endorsement(s) designated as appropriate to assignment.
Endorsement in administration and supervision PreK-12.
Knowledge of the principles and practices to develop and execute strategic plans, including assessing objectives, analyzing data, managing risks, evaluating performance, adapting strategies, identifying opportunities, aligning resources, monitoring progress, and utilizing strategic frameworks for informed decision-making for a large, diverse organization.
Knowledge of school improvement methodologies and organizational change strategies and initiatives, with an understanding of frameworks, models, and approaches utilized to enhance effectiveness within the organization.
Knowledge of diversity, cultural proficiency, and equity issues, including awareness of disparities, biases, and barriers, as well as strategies to ensure fairness, access, and opportunities for the school division.
Knowledge of administrative practices and procedures specific to PreK-12 school divisions, as well as broader knowledge of general school division operations.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements applicable to school division operations.
Ability to lead and manage fiscal, physical, and human resources necessary to carry out the diverse functions, projects, and programs of the department.
Ability to plan, formulate, and execute policies, projects, and programs.
Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with diverse stakeholders affiliated with the Division, encompassing constituents, the School Board, division personnel, as well as officials at the federal, state, and local levels.
Ability to explain and interpret FCPS regulations, policies, and rules to individuals and groups in order to gain compliance, cooperation, and understanding.
Ability to manage and oversee a large workforce through subordinates.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Preferred
Doctoral degree.
School-based and central office administrative leadership experience.
Experience with managing large-scale projects within the educational sector.
