As an Cardiac Sonographer Trainee, you will perform diagnostic procedures under the supervision of a registered Cardiac Sonographer to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics in accordance with accepted protocols as directed by physicians.

Job Responsibilities:
- Sets up and adjusts all equipment and manually maneuvers transducers to perform exams.
- Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures.
- Performs routine echocardiograms under the supervision of a Registered Cardiac Sonographer.
- Recognizes significant structures, artifacts, pathology and equipment limitations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Currently enrolled in a Medical Diagnostic Sonography program specializing in Echocardiography, or BSN in Nursing or Master's Degree in exercise physiology, kinesiology or similar related field.
- Individual will be evaluated continuously and will be promoted to Cardiac Sonographer within a minimum of 6 months or maximum of 12 months.
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers is required.
Competencies (Complexity of Work):
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Work Experience:
- Currently enrolled in a Medical Diagnostic Sonography program specializing in Echocardiography and completing their clinicals at Cleveland Clinic or worked in a patient care setting as an Exercise Physiologist or Registered Nurse for one year.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Ability to push and maneuver 500-pound equipment and motor coordination to operate equipment.
- Be able to assist patients when necessary.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures
