Responsibilities: | The College of Performing Arts seeks highly motivated students to serve as Drama/Bank Street Programs, Student Assistant. We’re looking for organized and enthusiastic individuals with a self-starter disposition interested in all aspects of production & operations to support initiatives within the School of Drama’s programs at 151 Bank Street. This position reports to the Program & Administration Manager, School of Drama (with some tasks supervised by the Producer of Theater & Opera) and is an ideal position for students who are interested in a career in non-profit, performing arts, or higher education administration.
This position is open to student applicants with Federal Work Study awards, as well as student applicants without a Federal Work Study award.

Hourly Rate: $16

Responsibilities - Support daily operations within the School of Drama and Production programs with scheduling, paperwork, and general organizational/operational tasks
- Station the Welcome Hub in Room 102 to answer student, faculty and visitor questions
- Support productions with pre-production, tech, strike as needed
- Assist with faculty copy/IT needs, mail distribution, stocking supplies, program printing, and CoPA events support, and mainstage marketing support.
- Assist CoPA Production and Program office with Front of House and Event Support as needed
- Synthesize Information and Update COPA Calendar; Post monthly on Call Board
- Help update Production Overhire website as requested
- Keep minutes of production meetings and staff meetings as requested
- Support production needs for classes / small projects
- Support the Props Master Studio Manager in the Studio Management role -Assisting with clean-up, maintenance, restocking supplies
- Attend strikes as work labor as requested – will not be required to go on Genie
- Assisting Production Managers in aspects of pre-production, rehearsals, and tech processes
- Manage supply orders and restocking (tape, first aid, etc.)
- Database upkeep
- Creating and circulating Materials for the Arts Letters
- Maintaining the Production Dept. Photo Archives
- Archiving Scripts/Production Books
- Maintaining and accounting for physical supplies in Bank Street as requested
- Additional responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: | Minimum Qualifications - Ability to commit to a consistent weekly schedule.

- Working with a group and willingness to collaborate
- Working knowledge of Google Suite: Drive, Calendar, etc
- General knowledge of theater practices and protocols

Preferred Qualifications: | Preferred Qualifications - At least one semester at The New School/other university or equivalent professional experience.
- Interest in operations and production, administration, and/or creative technologies.
- Current student enrolled in a College of Performing Arts program
- Recipient of a Federal Work Study award.
