Position Summary:
Catalent Pharma Solutions in Somerset, NJ is hiring a Continuous Improvement Engineer for the Somerset facility. The Continuous Improvement Engineer is a cross-functional leader that is accountable for realizing process improvements and driving Right First-Time execution on site. This role will be responsible for conducting large- or small-scale process or technology improvement projects to drive sustainable improvement in site performance. This person will also partner with all levels of site management and the CI network to drive productivity, standardization, and rapid adoption of best practices with focus on key initiatives.
This is a full-time position, Monday – Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM

The Role
- Identify, scope, and lead process or technology improvement projects in a GMP environment to address business process problems and design new processes to achieve results
- Utilize Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques to drive improvement in the following fields: Reduction in Waste, Cycle Time, Cost, Scrap, Process Variability, Increase in Efficiency, Yield, and Quality (Right First-Time)
- Partner with the site level finance team to document the fiscal impact of solutions
- Maintain all appropriate data within the site project prioritization and tracking system
- Lead problem-solving sessions to drive rapid resolution of safety, quality, or performance events; develop and/or lead actions that will prevent reoccurrence
- Drive cultural and behavioral changes to build a strong Continuous Improvement culture throughout the organization
- Support developing Continuous Improvement competence at every level of the organization though coaching & mentoring, and implementation of leader standard work
- Partner with area leaders to establish visual performance measurement systems to improve performance visibility and drive action to meet objectives
- Communicate frequently with site leadership, project sponsors, and project champions regarding project status, issues, and accomplishments
- All other duties as assigned;
The Candidate
- Bachelors degree is required, with a degree in Engineering highly preferred
- 2 or more years of experience in a similar role is required
- Green Belt Six Sigma preferred
- Experience in a GMP and/or pharmaceutical environment is preferred
- Understanding of Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques, as well as statistical process controls required
- Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to drive personal accountability at every level of the organization
- High level of written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving and risk assessment skills
- Proficient in use of Minitab or other statistical software is preferred
- Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift 0-15 pounds;
