The Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Education (SHARE) Title IX Office is the University’s central resource for combating, redressing, and preventing sexual harassment and sexual violence issues. The SHARE office is comprised of two primary teams: the Response Team and the Education Team.
We are looking for a Director of the SHARE Response Team and Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Response.
As the Director of the SHARE Response Team and a member of the Title IX Coordinator’s senior team, you will contribute to the strategic vision of the SHARE office by helping to assess performance, participating in the development of policies and practices, and managing and overseeing Stanford’s response to reports of sexual harassment and/or sexual violence.
As the subject matter expert and lead for the investigative and adjudicative functions of SHARE, you are responsible for applying a comprehensive understanding of the legal/regulatory compliance requirements and University’s policies and procedures, as well as best practices, to the achieve the appropriate response to reports of sexual harassment, including sexual assault, in the Stanford community.
Duties and Responsibilities Include*
Supervise and manage the SHARE Response Team which currently includes a staff of approximately 6 individuals.
Manage, monitor, and resolve Title IX incidents to ensure an efficient, effective, empathetic, and equitable response to reports and complaints.
As needed, serve as the investigator for cases alleging sexual harassment, including sexual assault, sexual misconduct, relationship (dating) violence, stalking, and retaliation.
Identify and address any systemic problems that impact Title IX compliance, including barriers to reporting.
In collaboration with the SHARE Education Team, ensure that Title IX policies are communicated to all constituencies and that the university implements a comprehensive Title IX training program for all relevant stakeholders.
Provide oversight for a case management database to organize, manage, track, and produce reports on all Title IX incidents.
In coordination with the SHARE Education team, create and facilitate the delivery of training/presentations to the campus community regarding the university’s nondiscrimination policies and identifying and integrating best practices into the complaint resolution process.
Serve as Acting Title IX Coordinator, as needed
Consult with the Title IX Coordinator to resolve to highly-sensitive faculty/student assault/harassment cases.
Serve as a resource and support for the resolution of sexual assault/harassment cases, in general, and specifically for those cases that require educational interventions with responding parties.
Develop, review, and revise policies, procedures, and documents relating to sexual harassment/assault and the university’s response to sexual harassment/assault.
Work with the Office of the President and Provost’s budget team on financial management of programs including monitoring and forecasting.
Represent the SHARE Title IX office within the University through outreach and coordination efforts to other units within the University and serve as a public liaison between the University and the broader Stanford community.

Education & Experienced Required
Bachelor’s degree and 8 years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Advanced degree in a relevant field with higher education Title IX and/or EEEO experience strongly preferred.

Ability to consider all points of view with reason, common sense, and empathy and work towards outcomes that resolve a situation

Strongly preferred experience:
Knowledge and experience with gender/sexual violence issues and effects of sexual assault on higher education populations
Significant relevant experience in sexual misconduct prevention/nondiscrimination programming
Experience developing and/or delivering training regarding sexual assault, sexual harassment, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking
Experience with Restorative Justice practices in the sexual harassment context
Working Conditions
Occasional evening and weekend hours

The expected pay range for this position is $131,000 to $175,000 per annum.
