Job Summary
The Position:
Experienced educators are hired as “Certificated Contract Consultants” to teach graduate level teacher preparation coursework aligned with the California Accredited Program Standards and the Teacher Performance Expectations (TPEs) to District Intern or Pre-intern candidates. Instructors work with PreService and/or District Intern candidates who are working toward earning preliminary teaching credentials through LACOE’s District Intern Program in the evening, while employed as the teacher of record.
Requirements / Qualifications
Requirements for Applying:
• The applicant must have at least five years of teaching experience (on a valid Clear Credential) with recommendations/references.
• Applicants must possess one of the credentials/authorizations below in order to be eligible for the position; specialists/TOSA and experience teaching adults is highly preferred:
• Education Specialist (Mild/Moderate)
• Education Specialist (Moderate/Severe) (*high need)
• Early Childhood Special Education
• Multiple Subject (K-2 experience preferred)
• PK-3 Early Childhood Education Specialist Instruction (*high need)
• Single Subject: Biological Sciences
• Single Subject: Chemistry
• Single Subject: Math
• Single Subject: Foundation Level Mathematics (*high need)
• Single Subject: Music
• Single Subject: Physical Education (*high need)
• Single Subject: Physics
• Single Subject: Science: Biological Sciences
• Single Subject: Spanish
• Technology Specialist or TOSA
• ELD Specialist or TOSA (*high need)
• Pupil Personnel Services
• BCLAD
• School Nurse (CTE Credential Required)
• Current TPA Assessor (*high need)
Applicants are responsible for submitting the following in addition to the electronic EDJOIN employment application:
• Credential copy (possess and maintain a valid clear California Credential in one of the subjects listed above)
• Letter of Introduction
• 3 current letters of recommendation dated and signed within the last 12 months (at least one from current or most recent supervisor)

Prior to hiring, applicants will need to verify/complete the following as conditions of employment:
• Current negative TB test results
• Passing score on the CBEST (original must be provided)
• Mandated Reporter Training through LACOE
• Anti-Harassment Training through LACOE
