We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with GPS Experience to join our Software Engineering team in El Segundo, California, a suburb of Los Angeles.
The Software Engineering Department is seeking an enthusiastic and highly capable software engineer with a recent track record of successfully developing real time embedded software for GPS Receivers. The ideal candidate will employ sound software development processes and have the skills listed below.

Qualifications/Experience Needed:
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
• Developing embedded software utilizing C, C++, Ada or related languages
• Developing, and integrating real time embedded software for YMCA GPS Receivers, including on target Hardware
• Working knowledge of GPS software architecture including cryptographic, system integrity and security domains separation, area navigation, and GPS ICDs
• Developing software using Green Hills Integrity Real-time Operating Systems, board support package (BSP), Green Hills Multi IDE and/or Wind River VxWorks or equivalent development tools
• Innovatively applying as well as developing advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts
• Investigating, trouble-shooting and fixing software issues
• Utilizing Software Development Processes
• Communicating effectively with team members across multiple disciplines and functional areas
• Communicating in and contributing to program and customer meetings and reviews
• Ability to obtain a SECRET Security Clearance or Higher is REQUIRED
Security Clearance:
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
• Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
• Developing Radar Software Architecture, Signal processing or Data processing algorithms for wireless communication technology
• Developing and integrating software for advanced for Radar Systems
• Familiarity with Agile lifecycle process including Scrum, Continuous Integration, Static Code Analysis using Coverity or equivalent, Unit Test using VectorCast or equivalent, and Test-Driven Methodologies
• Working as a Team Lead, Technical Lead, and/or Subject Matter Expert (SME) in fields of knowledge and expertise to other team members

The salary range for this role is 85,000 USD - 179,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
