We are currently seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our team as a Mechanical Service Technician within our facilities engineering operations & maintenance operating unit. Operating from a truck-based service model. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC systems and equipment at various client locations to ensure optimal performance and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
Perform maintenance on Engineering systems and equipment to include such items as, but not limited to, Chiller, IFU, VAV, HVAC Controls, and fire and life safety system sprinkler systems
Inspect and adjust mechanical equipment and systems; perform specific preventive maintenance service, as well as general maintenance functions while adhering to energy model for building efficiency.
Make periodic inspections of all Engineering systems and equipment and monitoring equipment operations, and maintain equipment operating logs
Proficiently use test equipment and devices pertinent to building operating systems and analyze test results.
Record and report all faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences. Respond to emergency situations and perform any and all tasks necessary for the protection of occupants and property
Under minimal supervision, perform Data Center or mission critical environment maintenance activities.
Operate and maintain critical systems such as HVAC, CRAC units, life safety and building automated systems, and utility systems.
Conduct preventive maintenance tasks on HVAC systems, including but not limited to cleaning coils, replacing filters, lubricating moving parts, and checking refrigerant levels, according to established schedules.
Troubleshoot HVAC equipment, diagnose issues, and perform necessary repairs or adjustments to restore functionality and efficiency.
Perform system startups, commissioning, and testing of HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation and compliance with manufacturer specifications.
Respond to service calls and client requests in a timely manner, prioritize tasks, and manage workload effectively to meet service level agreements (SLAs) and client expectations.
Education & Experience Requirements:
High school diploma with a minimum of four (4) to five (5) years of commercial HVAC experience as a truck-based service technician
HVAC OEM factory training or experience in Trane, Liebert, Stultz, and other major HVAC brands
Strong understanding of proper machines and tools related to HVAC service or installation – this includes their proper maintenance.
Must have holistic understanding of mechanical equipment and HVAC design in commercial and industrial environments.
Current CFC/EPA Universal Certification
Vocational training in HVAC or current Journeymen’s license holder
This position requires ongoing or intermittent use of a company vehicle. Selected candidates must possess an acceptable driving record in accordance with our policy.
On-call rotation is a mandatory requirement for this position. Selected candidate must be available 24/7 during the designated on-call rotation.
Clearable US Citizen with ability to obtain & maintain Top Secret (TS), Active Secret preferred.
Preferred experience:
Expertise in troubleshooting granular issues down to the component level on equipment such as boilers, chillers, AHU’s, VAV’s, heat pumps, and CRAC units
Ability to read and comprehend mechanical systems, drawings, schematics and plans.
Current master’s HVAC license or equivalent technical degree
Liebert HVAC systems
Excellent customer-relation skills
Ability to provide necessary pro-active recommendations to clients.
Abilities
Lifts at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period of time.
Relocates a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
