Job Summary
Leads the NCAA Division I men’s and women’s swimming and diving program maintaining a standard of excellence in academic success, compliance, community service, diversity and inclusion, and student health and safety. Complies, adheres, and maintains knowledge of all NCAA, Conference and Cleveland State University (CSU) rules and regulations. Recruits student-athletes and oversees their training and competition. Monitors and supports academic success of student-athletes. Builds and maintains a public awareness of the program. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma, GED or state recognized equivalent.
Three (3) years of experience coaching swim and dive at the club, high school, collegiate or equivalent level.
Valid driver’s license and ability to establish and maintain driver eligibility under CSU’s Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferably in education, sports management, or another related field.
Five (5) years of experience coaching swim and dive at the club, high school, collegiate or equivalent level.
Experience recruiting in Northeast Ohio.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Knowledge of NCAA and conference rules and legislation and committed to abiding by them.
Supports commitment to a diverse program through hiring, retention, facilitation, and decision-making skills and competencies.
Strong organizational and excellent interpersonal skills and have a “Customer Focus” attitude and delivery.
Possess the ability to effectively plan and coordinate, establish and maintain effective working relationships and prioritize workloads based on available resources.
Possess the ability to manage projects, meet deadlines and tackle emergencies and difficult situations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong public speaking and presentation skills, and ability to effectively communicate change.
Possess a high degree of confidentiality to available information.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
