Summary of the Job:
Directly manages all aspects of the noninvasive Cardiology department. The department includes a hospital based section for inpatient and outpatient testing, as well as a section housed in the Paul D. Cordes Outpatient Pavilion for EKG, Echo, and holter monitor application. Oversees the clinical, technical, and clerical aspects of the non-invasive cardiology department as it pertains to Trans-esophageal echo (TEE), stress testing, Cardioversion, Tilt table testing, EKG, Holter Monitoring, Echocardiography, etc. This leader will also be responsible for staff scheduling, staff development, conflict resolution, ensuring proper equipment maintenance, participating in quality initiatives, participation in appropriate committees, and assists in maintaining patient safety. This individual will also perform the duties of a Cardiology nurse in the department on a routine basis.
Minimum Qualifications: Current RN Louisiana licensure; Current ACLS & BLS; 2 years Cardiology experience or 2 years of other cardiology related field. Able to work flexible hours; Able to take on-call; Basic understanding of budgetary controls; Basic understanding of inventory management.
Physical Demands:
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
