The Systems Engineer serves as a Subject Matter Expert in a complex array of solutions. This individual will play a critical role in engineering and supporting Technology Workplace Products as a technical resource, with responsibilities for reviewing and analyzing vulnerability data to identify trends and patterns, determining and directing remediation actions, advising teams responsible for remediation, and influencing the development of vulnerability management standards and security policies. They will contribute to resolving complex issues and providing input for decisions on complex, non-routine service requests. This role will be called upon can make contributions into research, analysis, design, creation, and implementation of systems to meet current and future requirements. Additionally, you will partner with internal stakeholders to identify false positives, and support internal and partner teams in their remediation efforts. An ideal candidate will exhibit strong communication skills, be self-motivated, adaptable and dependable. This individual will collaborate on multiple projects to ensure for successful completion. CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience Required: • Undergraduate degree in an engineering or computer science discipline and/or equivalent experience/certification • 5+ years’ overall experience in information technology that includes the following o 3+ years’ experience designing, implementing, and managing endpoint security for Windows and MacOS devices in a large enterprise. o 3+ years’ experience managing compliance and vulnerability management programs and technologies. o 3+ years’ experience with endpoint management software (E.g., Intune, BigFix). • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for a wide range of audiences including executives, business stakeholders and IT teams. • Strong attention to detail with an ability to operate effectively across multiple priorities. Preferred: • 3+ years’ experience with Powershell and other scripting languages. • Demonstrated experience providing technical oversight of third-party resources and vendors. • Strong understanding of Windows security controls and capabilities • Experience with data analysis and reporting of vulnerabilities, and recommending solutions based on your analysis. • Experience with patching, component hardening, and application control on Windows endpoints in a large enterprise environment. • Excellent technical knowledge of current & emerging infrastructure systems & standards. • Experience with Design Thinking • Experience with SAFE Agile • Demonstrated ability to perform independently, as a member of a team, and through cross-functional initiatives. • Strong passion for technology and the drive to learn new technology. • Demonstrated ability to assess customer/client needs, creatively approach solutions, decide, and influence appropriate courses of action. • Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. • Experience in requirements analysis/generation and developing systems architectures. • Experience as a system engineer in programs that encompass systems architecture, requirements analysis, design, production, integration, test, and transition into operations. • Proficiency in key Microsoft Office products including Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PowerBI. CORE WORK ACTIVITIES • Helps architect, design, test, and implement patch, vulnerability, and compliance solutions and enhancements. • Directs and drives initiatives through globally diverse teams and organizations to ensure an effective and compliant program. • Provides technical leadership, oversight, governance, and direction for contractors and managed service providers related to Marriott compliance and vulnerability remediation solution delivery. • Translates and prioritizes Global Information Security requests into compliance and vulnerability solutions that can be applied across the organization. • Conducts analysis of the current environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommends solutions. • Conducts reviews of compliance and vulnerability solutions to review effectiveness, potential gaps, and documents improvement opportunities. • Monitors and reports on progress and validates success of compliance and remediation efforts executed by partner teams and service providers. • Documents solutions and performs knowledge transfer via designs, build documents, and runbooks to external service providers. Creates and drives development of processes and system documentation. • Delivers recommendations advising leadership on present risk and whether additional remediation or action is required. • Determines customer requirements and works with sourced resources to develop solutions. • Creates automation and machine learning solutions to increase the speed in which solutions and vulnerability remediations are delivered. • Advocates for needed policy / engineering updates and enhancements. • Participates in the evaluation and selection of security technology products. • Educates internal and external users on the technologies to continually improve the knowledge and skill-base of the organization on how to operate and support the technology services. Colorado Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $83,550.00 to $162,366.00 annually. Hawaii Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $101,096.00 to $178,603.00 annually. New York Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $83,550.00 to $178,603.00 annually. Washington Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $83,550.00 to $178,603.00 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus. Employees will accrue 0.04616 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 7 holidays annually.
