Requirements / Qualifications
Beginning the 2024-2025 School Year
The Baldwin Park Unified School District is seeking a highly qualified Teacher to teach Drama and English. The 2024-2025 assignment will be Drama for 40%-time at Sierra Vista Middle School as well as Drama for 20%-time and English for 40%-time at Sierra Vista High School. Teacher will provide an educational program for the unique pattern of growth and development of students and assist in related school programs as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
• Single Subject Credential with authorization in English and in Theatre (Drama)
• EL Authorization
PREFERENCES
• Some experience with helping students develop fundamental skills and techniques to act in, assist with, and lead theatrical and musical productions
• Some experience with instructing Theatre, Musical Theatre, and Stage Tech
• Some experience with selecting, editing, casting, and directing plays/musicals and other theater art forms for public performances
• Some experience with holding rehearsals and evaluating student performances
• Some experience with play/musical production tasks, including but not limited to set construction, scene changes, lighting, sound, and special effects
• Some experience with actually conducting a culminating theater or musical production
