This position is eligible for our Crane Flex Hybrid schedule which allows for the option of up to 2 days/week of work-from-home. Some conditions apply which will be discussed during the interview process. Full policy to be provided after hire.
Job Summary:
Design focused engineer, performing thorough analyses of hydro-, and electro-mechanical components.
Supporting higher level engineers in the design and analysis of mechanical and hydraulic components primarily used in aircraft brake control systems.
Develop, design, and modify components to defined requirements.
Prepare the documents required to define the products and show verification of analytics.
Provide, with guidance from higher level engineers, technical assistance to all internal departments, suppliers, and customers as it relates to the product.
Lead peer reviews of generated component documents, drawings, operating procedures, and work instructions.
Responsibility:
- Develop, with guidance from higher level engineers, new products and modify existing products to support customer, applicable regulatory and industry standard, and market requirements.
- Performs trade studies to optimize design solution.
- Create or calculate tolerance stack ups, performs reliability and Failure Modes and Effects analyses.
- Prepare and review documentation required to define and control products. Support design reviews, both with customer and internal as required.
- Create and implement test procedures for products based on product requirements and customer specifications. Monitor testing and analyze data to verify performance of the product to customer and design specifications. Review and recommend approval or not of test reports.
- Support failure analysis examinations and prepare Failure Analysis Reports (FAR) of findings.
- Provide, with guidance from higher level engineers, technical support to all internal departments, suppliers, and customers as it relates to the product.
- Participate in defining engineering approaches including the planning and scheduling of work, participating in cost reduction activities.
- Ensure the successful completion of the assigned project phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
- 3 +years in aerospace industry; experience in other industries with development and manufacture of complex hydraulics and electro-mechanical components can be considered in lieu of aerospace.
- Experience in designing of major aircraft actuation and distribution components and/or systems, such as hydraulic valves, actuators and electro-mechanical devices.
- Thorough knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 standards, Tolerance analysis, and Computer Aided Design, solid modeling
- Fundamental engineering analyses, including but not limited to fluid dynamics, mechanical design for hydraulic components, systems and pressure vessels.
- Working knowledge of practical manufacturing techniques, quality assurance requirements and factors affecting product/program costs.
- Knowledge of analytical tools such as SolidWorks and its analysis suite is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to organize prepare and present materials to customers, suppliers and/or company management at all levels.
- Knowledge of office tools.

Salary range: $100,400 to $121,300. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications.
