Hourly Range: $55 - $60 per hour

Job Description:
Responsibilities:
Peform physical examinations of patients to evaluate health and diagnose illnesses
Order and peform diagnostic tests, such as x-rays and laboratory tests
Determine, plan, and initiate appropriate treatment, and adjust treatment if necessary
Prescribe and dispense medications
Document medical information of patients and maintain electronic medical records
Educate, instruct, and counsel patients and families on presenting health problems, treatment plans, and home care, and encourage and promote preventative health care and positive health behaviors
Request consultation or referral with other health care providers, such as physicians, counselors, dieticians and outside referrals.
Actively maintain knowledge of current medical research and trends, and support research projects
Complete charting on all encounters in 1-2 business days
Maintain Standardized Practice Guidelines as specified by the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) of California.

Ability to communicate effectively with patients and other medical staff
Strong leadership skills, self-confidence, and ability to remain calm in stressful situations

Collaborate with executive director, supervising physician, and registered nurse in the provision of health care services.
Consult with Supervising Physician when health care practice issues arise or when treatment plans are not producing expected response.
Evaluate student health care needs, providing appropriate treatment within the context of Standardized Practice Guidelines
Maintain appropriate documentation in medical records of health encounters and other follow-up communication.
Order diagnostic tests when appropriate; interpret results, implement care, evaluate response per Standardized Practice Guidelines.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Proficient in google, excel and EHR systems
Able to learn new software and charting systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent skills in patient history taking, physical assessment, and management of a variety of upper respiratory illnesses
Required Education, Experience, and Licensure:
Masters or Doctoral prepared Nurse Practitioner
Preferred: 2-3 years’ experience working as a nurse practitioner
NP CA license, NP CA Furnishing License, NPI
National NP Certification (ANCC or AANP)
CPR Certified (BLS required, ACLS preferred)
