Description
Our Client is a leading builder of emergency medical vehicles, is currently seeking a Engineering Supervisor to join our team. The Engineering Supervisor at our Client reports to the Engineering Manager, and is responsible for organizing, coordinating, and supervising employees and activities of the our Client’s Engineering team. The supervisor is responsible for planning and designing methods or processes that improve or enhance our existing products and production programs. This position is capable of resolving issues arising from operations that may require coordination with other departments. This position is responsible for overseeing projects and working collaboratively to complete projects. Ensures projects follow organizational best practices for design, prototyping, and testing.

What Does a Week in the Life of the Engineering Supervisor Look Like?
- Encourage and enforce a Safety First mindset with good housekeeping at all times
- Start each day with a Safety Moment and Predetermined Stretches.
- Lead by example in supporting safety initiatives and training needs.
- Monitor and approve Time and Attendance as well as PTO requests
- Monitor who is clocked in each morning in UKG.
- Ensure all employees are clocked in or are logged in the Call In Log.
- Review and approve/deny PTO requests in conversation with employees.
- Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, designers, and technicians to ensure effective collaboration and optimal performance.
- Provide guidance, support, and training to team members to foster their professional development and enhance their skills.
- Product Development
- Manage the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to production, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and sales, to translate customer needs into innovative vehicle designs.
- Engineering Design:
- Oversee the design process, including structural, mechanical, and electrical systems, to ensure functional integrity, safety, and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to maintain accuracy and consistency throughout the development process.
- Project Management:
- Plan and prioritize engineering projects, allocate resources effectively, and monitor progress to ensure timely delivery within budgetary constraints.
- Communicate project status, milestones, and challenges to management, providing regular updates and recommendations for improvement.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
- Clean driving record and ability to be added to the company insurance.
- Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in engineering management or supervisory role within the automotive or manufacturing industry, with a focus on vehicle design and development.
- Strong technical expertise in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and familiarity with engineering analysis tools.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate teams, resolve conflicts, and collaborate effectively across departments.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Lean Six Sigma / Manufacturing training
- Syteline ERP system knowledge
