Sumitomo Electric Interconnect Products, Inc., a Sumitomo Electric Group company, is looking for a Human Resources - Generalist, with payroll experience, to work at our San Marcos, California office. The Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with management in supporting employees. Must be trustworthy with company sensitive information, detail oriented, and a self-starter and have the ability to work under strict deadlines with varied conflicting priorities. This individual must practice high standards of professional ethics and personal integrity in the best interest of the company. This person reports to the Human Resources Manager.
SEIP is looking for a Human Resources Generalist with multi-year experience and demonstrated employment stability. This is an salary-paid, exempt position with a pay range of $70K to $85K depending on experience. This position is fully on-site. Local candidates highly desired.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Payroll / Time and Attendance
- Work in conjunction with the Human Resources Manager regarding the time clock, entering and maintaining non-exempt employees
- Assist in preparation of documents pertaining to terminations, including the employee’s final check, COBRA and HIPAA documentation, 401K disbursement forms, and other documents that are required at the time of separation
- Maintain and update Payroll Desk Procedures
- Manage company time clock and oversee daily timesheets for employees and temporary workers
- Support person responsible for generating bi-weekly payroll using ADP Vantage
- Recruitment Selection / Onboarding
- Manage recruiting, selection, job offers, pre-employment screening, employee orientations, and E-Verify
- Main contact for temporary staffing agencies
- Process new hires and related paperwork
- Workplace Compliance
- Revise and maintain employee handbook’s policies and procedures to comply with laws and regulations
- Administer various human resources policies and procedures for all company personnel
- Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment such as EEO and affirmative action guidelines and laws
- Employee Relations
- Assist with employee relations by consulting and addressing workplace concerns
- Prepare and maintain employment records
- Coordinate conferences and special events, such as luncheons and celebrations
- Assist with management of injured workers
- Manage leave of absences with internal and external parties as needed.
- Manage performance evaluation program and revise as necessary
- Training and Development
- Provide training and administrative support for personnel
- Benefits
- Manage employee benefits and monthly self-billings
- Assist with the execution of Open Enrollment annually for all employees during year end
- Complete annual ACA Reporting
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree and three to five years human resources experience or similar combination of education and experience
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of payroll processing experience strongly preferred
- Must have technological skills working in Microsoft applications with proficiency in Excel, Word, and understanding and experience with database and spreadsheet concepts
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to read, analyze and interpret administrative laws
- Trustworthy individual with company sensitive information, detail-oriented, and a self-starter required
- Ability to work under strict deadlines with varied conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment
- This position requires the individual to practice high standards of professional ethics and integrity in the best interest of the company
Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000 depending on experience
