About the Position: The Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Equity Programs (DIEP) supports the Cal State Fullerton (CSUF) mission of preparing our diverse student body for academic and professional success. We develop and support practices, programming, and policies across the broad spectrum of inclusivity, equity, and civility for the CSUF campus community. Through the provision of consultation and training, we strive to promote a campus community wherein students, staff and faculty are engaged in the values of inclusive excellence. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Outreach, Prevention, and Education Specialist (Administrative Analyst/Specialist Exempt I). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness. Reporting to the Resolution Education Manager, the Outreach, Prevention, and Education Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing evidence-based programs and initiatives that prevent discrimination, harassment, and retaliation (DHR), and promote a safe and inclusive living, learning, and working environment. The Outreach, Prevention, and Education Specialist will work collaboratively with various campus departments and student organizations to design and deliver educational programs and events that raise awareness of issues related to the California State University (CSU) Nondiscrimination Policy. Through this work, the Outreach, Prevention, and Education Specialist will additionally utilize the information and data received to connect Discrimination/Harassment/Retaliation (DHR) Prevention with wider conflict prevention programs and initiatives focused on overall belonging on campus. Clarify and check individual and group understanding regarding complex policies, changes in policies, and definitions within the DHR realm. Ensure strategies and programming are trauma-informed, encourage safe bystander intervention, and establish social norms that support health and safety. Other duties as assigned. |

Essential Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving the study, analysis, evaluation, development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices or programs plus two years of related experience. Working knowledge of and the ability to apply standard theories, principles, practices, and techniques applicable to the program or administrative specialty to develop conclusions and make recommendations. Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to the applicable program or administrative specialty. Working knowledge of operational and fiscal analysis and techniques. Ability to take initiative and plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved. Skilled in research, development, and evaluation of policies and programs. Ability to collect, evaluate, and interpret data to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. Expertise investigating and analyzing problems with broad administrative impact and implications. Ability to anticipate problems and address them proactively. Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret, organize, and present information and ideas in written or presentation form. Ability to train others on new skills and procedures and provide lead work direction. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position. |
Preferred Qualifications | A master's or advanced degree in a related field is preferred. Strong knowledge of federal and state laws regarding discrimination, harassment, retaliation, sexual violence, trends, and issues affecting higher education. Knowledge or experience in trauma-informed prevention and outreach training. Higher education experience in a unionized environment is preferred. |
