Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, direct, and control all phases of laboratory phlebotomy operations.
- Supervise the workflow of phlebotomists and emergency room medical assistants.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Oversee quality assurance functions and problem resolution.
- Monitor staff attendance, attitude, and dress code, and take appropriate action when needed.
- Evaluate new products, procedures, and equipment for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Manage financial resources, including monitoring expenditures and maintaining inventory.
Requirements:
- AA or BS degree preferred.
- At least three years of phlebotomy LEADERSHIP experience
- Phlebotomy Certification by a technical training program.
- Knowledge of insurance providers, ICD-10 CM Coding, medical necessity, and medical terminology.
- At least six years of phlebotomy experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Strong organizational skills and computer proficiency.
- Laboratory billing experience required.
