Job Description
Ultimate Staffing is seeking a Material Handler Driver for our client in Milpitas. This is a 100% onsite Direct Hire role with a starting pay of $22 an hour. This position requires a CLEAN DMV RECORD. Candidates with DMV infractions will not be considered.
Position Summary:
The Material Handler-Driver reports directly to the Warehouse Supervisor. The Material Handler-Driver may perform a variety of tasks in accordance with their training, experience, and skill.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
* Driver is responsible for following the best practices for safety, both on the road and while loading or unloading the Company vehicles.
* Driver is expected to perform vehicle check for proper operation and perform vehicle visual walk-through or inspection including maintaining the cleanliness before and after use. Report any finding to the Facilities, Supervisor or Warehouse Manager.
* Driver is expected to ensure the gas is full in vehicles, and when needed, fill up and obtain receipt.
* Driver logs the information on the Delivery Log in use. Gas receipts must be turned in to Supervisor for record purpose.
* Driver must communicate clearly with team members regarding any type of pick-up and or delivery in order to meet deadline but not commit directly to Customer's request for any type of delivery or pick-up.
* Attend production meetings.
* Update required reports as needed.
* Performs manual and clerical duties such as receiving, storing, and issuing materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
* Will be trained to receive materials, checks against documentation for completeness, identification, and quantity.
* Sorts, Counts, checks received goods, raw materials, finished or semi-finished parts and subassemblies.
* Issues materials, supplies components and parts from stock.
* Will be trained to stock kits for production departments and verifies, counts, or documents any shortages.
* Prepares shortage documentation and reviews status of shortages, back-order files, and inventory status reports.
* Interface and support internal/external customers (production, quality, engineering, small carriers, trucking companies, etc.)
* Ships products and other items as required.
* Delivers or picks up items to customer or supplier locations as required.
* Other miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
Qualifications Required/Job Specifications:
* Preparing activity reports and other data input as required.
* High school Diploma or GED equivalence
* Or minimum of (2) years of material handling experience or equivalent
* Previous Forklift experience preferred. Specifically Stand up Reach Forklift
* Possess a high level of integrity in handling confidential and sensitive information.
* High attention to detail
* Driver shall report to work from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. You are expected to call in if unable to report to job. Changes to start time is only in special cases by the department Supervisor / Manager. All extended hours or overtimes are also by authorization only. Follow breaks and lunch schedules.
* Driver shall check in for Orders and requests from Department Lead/supervisor. (Driver should not be directly engaged with Program Managers for any type or pick-up or delivery. They will have to send the request to Shipping Department
* Proficient with PC-based software including Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced knowledge of Word and Excel.
* Effective organizational skills required; detail oriented; ability to multitask.
* Possess excellent communication skills in both verbal and written form.
* Ability to keep accurate documentation.
* Ability to apply basic concepts of arithmetic.
* Ability to use common sense to solve practical problems.
