The Amazon Sports team is seeking a Senior Business Affairs Executive to help define the future of original sports content as we establish Prime Video as the home of highly entertaining sports storytelling.
Prime Video offers customers a selection they wont find anywhere else, all available to watch on practically any device in more than 240 countries and territories. Prime Video delivers Amazon Originals, including hit series Fleabag, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Tom Clancys Jack Ryan, The Boys, and tentpole movies Coming 2 America, Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, The Tomorrow War, and other exclusives, popular titles included with Prime, plus premium channel subscriptions, titles available to rent or buy, and live sports, including NFL Thursday Night Football, WNBA games, New York Yankees games, and more.
The Original Content team within Amazon Sports is a new team responsible for the development and production of original sports content. We tell all types of sports stories; from widely appealing stories for casual sports fans to in-depth stories that allow super fans to deepen their fandom. The team's early hits include Kelce, Bye Bye Barry, Coach Prime, Surf Girls, and Giannis. The team builds on the success of previous Amazon Originals in the sports category, including the worldwide success of the All or Nothing franchise and international hits like Maradona: Blessed Dream (Argentina), Inside Edge (India), and El Presidente (Columbia).
We are seeking a Senior Business Affairs Executive with experience negotiating unscripted sports content deals with leagues, producers, directors, athletes, and other key talent. This is an opportunity to join a self-motivated, passionate and highly collaborative team environment while we build a new content slate in service of sports customers at Amazon. It is critical that this person be willing to roll up their sleeves and help build the original sports content team.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key talent representatives and executives from major sports leagues
- Negotiate license agreements to secure necessary rights and services from leagues, producers, directors, and key talent
- Collaborate with the legal team to create and review contractual terms to address business needs
- Define the playbook for sports unscripted content deal terms
- Partner with strategy teams to audit business metrics, perform deep dive analysis on problems to understand root causes and make decisions supported by data
- Monitor the competitive landscape to help inform Amazon Sports strategy

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of studio, production company or television network experience
- 6+ years of entertainment industry deal negotiation experience
- Experience negotiating complex agreements with a firm understanding of legal terminology and reasoning
- Experience working for a production company, studio, or television network
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- J.D., or MBA
- Experience in content negotiation, acquisition or business development

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $130,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $215,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
