Job Overview:
The role of the Bloomie’s beauty stylist is to inspire customers to purchase by offering solutions to their skin care needs and sharing their knowledge and passion for fragrance. The beauty stylist establishes themselves as a trusted consultant and product expert through-out beauty. They will complete make-up applications and help customers with guidance on skin care and fragrance, engaging the customer in a way that makes them want to return to the store.
This seller is beauty-engaged and highly knowledgeable about trends, brands and products. The beauty stylist works with customers both in-store and online, walk-in or by appointment. They build relationships, develop a personal following, and leverage their clientele to maximize sales and drive repeat visits. The stylist sells the total breadth of the Bloomie’s beauty assortment and connects customers to the broader Bloomingdale’s beauty assortment.

Essential Functions:

• Assertively sell to customers who walk-in or by appointment; sell the breadth of the beauty assortment
• Conduct skin care and makeup applications; teaching clientele best methods
• Build a clientele; follow up with customers after every sale; complete client outreach for new deliveries and personal needs
• Drive Loyalists by selling both applications and enrollments; follow up with new Loyalists to inspire their next visit
• Partner with Stylists to cross sell outside of beauty – “what else do you need today? Let me introduce you to…”
• Use digital selling tools to assist and acquire new customers online; motivate online customer to visit the store & store customers to shop online
• Merchandise new beauty receipts, fill in and maintain selling floor
• Participates in all service and product education to maintain expert knowledge and support the Bloomie’s customer centric culture
• Complete fulfillment picks or do other support tasks if needed

Qualifications and Competencies

• High School or GED
• 3-5 years related experiance
• Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers.
• Resourceful and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities
• Resourceful self-starter, works well independently as well as part of a team, and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities
• Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires prolonged periods of standing/walking around store or department
• May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping and color vision
• Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register and ability to process register transactions
• Frequently lift/move up to 25lbs
