Summary
Six Flags Great Adventure is seeking an innovative and resourceful individual to join the Maintenance team. This person will supervise and coordinate the proper inspection, maintenance and rehabilitation of all rides and attractions. This person will also work closely with Director of Maintenance and Construction to establish clear guidelines and timelines while creating expense and capital budgets to control same.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate the daily ride inspection program as outlined by ride manufacturers specifications and Six Flags guidelines.
Supervise the timely execution of all routine ride maintenance as directed by ride manufacturer specifications and proven experience.
Ensure that all rides meet or exceed state safety standards.
Act as a liaison with state and local officials having regulatory oversight and inspection responsibilities.
Maintain OSHA Safety Standards and other policies and procedures of Six Flags, Inc. and Six Flags Great Adventure.
Prepare, administer and maintain budgets with cost reduction and efficiency in mind.
Responsible for ensuring all projects are completed in a safe and timely manner.
Keep all records and documentation relating to ride repairs, modifications, etc. accessible and organized appropriately.
Provide leadership direction and training for the Maintenance team, fostering a positive and team-oriented attitude among staff and ensure a “Guest First” culture exists.
Must possess practical skills and proficient knowledge in three or more trades from the following: mechanical, electrical, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and machinist shop.
Must be hands-on with skills to develop and train newly hired or less experienced personnel.
Ensure proper mechanical support is provided for all special events requiring ride operations including exclusive ride times, media shoots, and employee events.
Coordinate all off-season activities to include planning, training, and winterization functions.
Perform periodic performance evaluations of Maintenance staff.
Monitor department team member voice survey scores and assist in the development of initiatives to address areas of needed improvement.
Model and enforce all park policies and procedures and maintain all Six Flags standards.
Perform all other duties as assigned by Park leadership.
Minimum Requirements
At least 10 years experience in the ride maintenance, mechanical field with at least 5 years of supervisory experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related degree is preferred.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clear driving record.
Knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Word/Excel) required for budgeting and tracking. CAD and industry application experience preferred, MAXIMO CMMS experience a plus.
Will be required to work various shifts as project and park needs dictate, including nights, weekends and holidays Occasional travel 1-3 times per year.
Must possess strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
Must have the ability to stand, walk, crouch, bend, stoop, kneel frequently throughout full shift and lift up to fifty pounds occasionally.
