Role Summary:
- Digital LifeCycle Management (DLCM) describes the holistic approach to update customer vehicles over the air or by dealer campaigns
- Conduct effective testing, reporting, and support repairing and updating of DLCM test vehicles in a timely manner to ensure no delays for SOP as well as no tow-ins and no unknown field complaints
- Perform on-site technical analysis on reported VW, Audi and other VW Group test vehicles, parts and components and determine the root cause of quality and design issues
- Validate complaints and provide a full technical understanding regarding customer/driver complaints to support the development countermeasures
- Develop and maintain fast and efficient communication flow with different stakeholders
- Deep knowledge in vehicle backend configuration and communication across different integration levels
Role Responsibilities:
Main responsibility – assign 80% of time spent
- Alignment with DLCM campaign coordinator to ensure online readiness of test vehicles
- Root cause analysis of connected service issues between vehicle and backend structures EU & NAR (Pre-Prod & Prod)
- Ensure online readiness of test vehicles prior DLCM campaign rollout
- Ensure analysis quality on DLCM related test results
- Investigate and report issues on test vehicles and request additional tracing equipment if necessary. Acquire additional data in form of traces, videos or descriptions to ensure fast problem resolving
- Document all findings within ticket system and present findings to stakeholders in a clear, structured way
- Alignment with station coordinators to ensure vehicle updates are performed properly and in a timely manner. This includes hardware as well as software changes performed by various test stations
- Alignment with technicians to provide instructions for vehicle preparation and updates. Hands On support within workshop activities for DLCM vehicles
- Responsible to support on-going troubleshooting when updates fail including creation and distribution of update procedures
- Alignment with Data Acquisition/IT Team to ensure appropriate data recording and quality. Support Data Logger installation in test vehicles as needed
- Perform additional duties as requested
Additional responsibilities – assign 10% of time
- Alignment with Engineering team to maximize testing synergies and establish equal workflows and processes across all test stations within in the US
- Participate on test trips to different locations across the US and Canada to enlarge testing area
Qualifications:
Years of Experience:
- 5 years of experience in Engineering, Development & Testing
Education – Required:
Bachelor degree in Engineering
Familiarity with Electric/Electronic application and vehicle development
Knowledge of basic vehicle connectivity
Education – Desired:
- Familiarity with vehicle connectivity backend setup and structure
- Familiarity with development tools and diagnostics equipment used by Volkswagen Group Engineering
Skills:
- In-depth system knowledge of Audi/Volkswagen vehicles with focus on Infotainment and connectivity
- Integration – joining people, processes or systems
- Ability to operate effectively and efficiently in a team
