Job Abstract

Responsible for ensuring, organizing, and maintaining an active, accurate, and operational surgical schedule for the OMC Main OR, SDS, and Endoscopy. Responsible for securing, evaluating, and processing operating room scheduling forms, Carelink, and Epic depot cases. Enters all data according to the scheduling guidelines. Assists in coordinating PAT, med eval, and anesthesia consult schedules. Seeks to confirm availability of physicians, operating rooms, and equipment to ensure efficient utilization of resources. Updates schedule to accommodate cancellations and changes. Ensures that sufficient time is allocated for each surgical case, procedure, and appointment.


Principal Accountabilities:

1. Scheduling, rescheduling, and cancelling patient surgical cases, procedures, and appointments as required.
2. Communicates consistently with surgeons' offices to ensure accurate and efficient surgical schedules.
3. Maintains data integrity process while complying with HIPAA regulations.
4. Acts as liaison between the clinical staff, physicians, surgeon's offices and ancillary departments involving surgical cases.
5. Courteously receives incoming telephone calls through the Cisco call center.
6. Ensures all ICD10 & CPT codes are captured and entered accurately.
7. Performs other related duties as assigned.
