Job Details and Requirement:
The Associate Registrar for Advising and Degree Audit manages daily operations of the Registrar’s Office related to student communications, academic advising, and providing students with the information necessary to advance their progress toward their chosen degree programs. The Associate Registrar for Advising and Degree Audit manages communications with and training for academic advisors, and programming interactive degree audits in the student information system. The Associate Registrar for Advising and Degree Audit has primary responsibility for improving and advancing CMC’s self-service academic advising options; evaluating transfer, study abroad, and AP/IB credit; and managing the Registrar’s Office new student orientation activities. This position requires substantial decision-making and judgment in the interpretation of academic policy, as well as handling sensitive and confidential information. This position reports directly to the Registrar.
The Associate Registrar for Advising and Degree Audit works independently to perform the following essential duties and responsibilities:
- Communicating and enforcing academic policies related to degree completion and curricular requirements
- Advising students and faculty on various academic requirements and policies
- Leading all Registrar’s Office functions related to New Student Orientation
- Programing and publishing degree audits for all students
- Contributing to course schedule production and course registration
- Providing resources and training opportunities for academic advisors
- Testing, developing, and maintaining the student portal system, particularly as it relates to advising and degree audit
- Evaluating and interpreting AP, IB, transfer, and study abroad credit using professional judgment
- Researching quality, content and mode of instruction for transfer credit, in order to enforce CMC policies
- Designing and implementing solutions to changing policies and processing needs
- Writing procedures and documentation
- Making decisions with regard to the management of Registrar databases, including the construction of database entries for degree audit and advising
- Assisting with grade processing, enrollment and degree verifications, and transcript production
- Assisting with Registration and Commencement activities
- Providing service to various College committees, as directed by the Registrar
- Performing other essential duties and tasks specific to the position.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
EDUCATION: A Bachelor’s degree is required, a Master’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
EXPERIENCE: The successful candidate will have professional experience working in higher education administration, and enjoy working with students and faculty. Prior experience in a Registrar’s office is highly preferred.
LICENSES: A valid driver’s license or equivalent means of reliable transportation to off-site meetings and events is required. License eligibility as a psychologist in California is a requirement of this position.

HOURS: The regular hours for this position are 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Hours may vary due to needs of the College or the Office.
CLASSIFICATION AND STATUS: This is a full-time, 12-month year-round position. This position is classified at the exempt salary compensation. This position is full benefits-eligible.
ANTICIPATED SALARY RANGE:
$70,000 - $75,000 PER YEAR
