We are seeking a Retail Commerce Lead to create impact and help support one of our agency’s clients in navigating the dynamic, fast-changing retail landscape and implementing their shopper marketing and ecommerce vision across their core customers including Chewy, Amazon Walmart and Pet Specialty retailers. Candidates must reside in a commutable distance to one of Mars United Commerce’s hub locations: Detroit, Chicago, Cincinnati, New York, Denver, Minneapolis, Bentonville, Dallas, Seattle or Nashville.
This person is a driver of Connected Commerce across retail teams for specific client, linking all the levers needed to deliver most efficient and effective business results. They make connections across retail teams, lead customer leadership asks/initiatives, drive strategic thought leadership and elevate any staffing/scoping needs to EVP of Customer Development and Business Lead.
The Retail Commerce Lead is the point of contact for Client Leadership and cross functional leads to be the general steward of the business and to collaborate with on business needs that are retail specific, but not retailer specific. They are the leader of approach and development of overarching business QBRs, overarching learnings from commerce plans and levers, annual planning and setting of overarching business objectives and KPIs. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Provide thought leadership, impacting/contributing to client’s way of doing business with
their key retailer on an ongoing basis
? Be the subject matter expert for Pet channel, specifically Pure Play retailers
? Act as a change agent/impact player from both an internal and external perspective –
contributing to both client and agency performance
? Expand assigned business through identification of growth opportunities within retailer
set
? Build strong relationships with both client and retailers while working closely with
cross-functional teams including consumer marketing, trade development, operations,
merchandising, and category managers, directors, and buyers
? Identify opportunities on key ecommerce retailers and marketplace and share these
learnings on an ongoing basis with internal cross-functional teams (i.e.,Retail Media,
Client Leadership)
? Identify and track emerging digital shelf trends and requirements and regularly develop
and share educational content for clients and internal agency teams
? Advise clients and internal cross-functional team with BIC digital content strategies and
best practices on key ecommerce platforms like Chewy.com, Walmart.com, and other
leading online retailers and marketplaces
? Be the subject matter expert for ecommerce content and retailer requirements and
continuously assess the definition of best-in-class content for client-specific categories
across ecommerce platforms
? Ability to work with cross-functional teams to ensure there is an end-to-end
understanding of processes, strategy, and the role of ecommerce content
? Partner with the internal creative team to ensure content strategies are developed
according to project briefs and meet retailer requirements
? Coordinate and continuously optimize ecommerce content workflows, technology, and
partnerships to ensure content for new products, content refreshes, and enhanced
content is competitive and delivered on time to clients
? Partner with the VP, Ecommerce, and client teams to develop timelines aligned to
content launch plans and implement efficient methodologies to speed the time to market
while also delivering market-leading quality
SKILLSETS REQUIRED:
? Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, business, or related field
? Minimum of 8 years of ecommerce experience at a retailer, CPG, or marketing or
advertising agency
? Pet Channel experience, specifically Chewy.com
? Must have experience with managing digital shelf content on Amazon.com, Chewy.com,
and Walmart.com
? Strategic thinking in development of shopper marketing programs, ecommerce space
and management of the day to day
? Possess an entrepreneurial spirit and be a self-starter with a deep sense of
accountability, creativity, resourcefulness, and a desire to collaborate and step in for the
good of the team and the agency
? A wealth of industry knowledge including current trends, consumer packaged goods and
retailer information, and business philosophies
